Althorp Village

On Sunday the 3rd October we gathered at the usual spot; Burger King Fraser Cove about 9:30am and as many members hadn't had time to have breakfast they pondered in mass about what they should order from Burger King.  Me well I knew exactly what I wanted "a snow freeze", and shortly after I noticed nearly all members were having a snow freeze for breakfast, aren't we a healthy lot.  Tyla chose the munch up from the bottom of the cone approach as we all did at that age, Den ("Denise") chose the use the snow freeze as a dip for your nuggets approach-yuk!, "Jackarse" thought she better not have a snow freeze in case she got it on her glow in the dark green nails, beautifully done by Charlize the night before dirty and Leanne and "Not Nuts Lynne" were so hungry they actually ended up in a tangle.

From there we cruised of to Althorp Village in Pyes Pa (with our Mascot "Gnome" as my trusty passenger) to support their Open Day by displaying our cars and offering residents free rides.

On our arrival we had to navigate a rather steep gravel drive so many of our cars now have shiny under-bellies but once we got onto the grass area, we were fine and got busy setting up the Bay Rodders Bar (kindly christened, named and labelled by "No Nuts Lynne") and we got our mascot "Gnome" all comfy in the bar, erected our flag so everyone new Bay Rodders were "In the House", and then Tyla and Talia set about ensuring all the girls nails were looking spik and span for the event.

The Imperial had the first customer "Ron" (pictured here with the cap on) chauffeured by Garth, at first we were a little concerned Garth might get lost and Ron not being a resident might not be able to get him back, but they apparently stopped and got directions from Bay Rodder members Viv and Brian who were at home only a few streets away.  In the mean time Leanne, "Jackarse" and "No Nuts Lynne" were off to find the essentials, loo, tea, coffee and scones and as you can see their mission was successful, didn't bring me back any though and Deano said "they went quick, they were "scone" ha ha Deano, and soon there were many other followers.  I then had the pleasure of taking Ron for a spin and he loved acceleration as much as I do so that made it a fun ride, then the Pop and Imperial were off giving other residents rides, and then that was it really, done and dusted,  I don't think the residents were really "big on cars" people.

So we entertained ourselves, highlights were getting to know a new member Buck and his 70 Cougar (7TCUGA), we hope we didn't put you off Buck and look forward to you joining us on many other Bay Rodder events, the Poynton girls and mum "Kim" went on a tour of the village and booked a unit for Dad "Cam", unit seven apparently as they waved at us from the deck.  Talia entertained us with a little plastic yellow popping toy, it was hilarious but more entertaining was watching Leanne shake as if it was going to bite her - chicken.  Tyla entertained us with the amount of C**P she has in her handbag for such a tender age, she had more make up in it than all the woman there today and maybe some of the the men.

There were some concerning moments though when Leanne shared with us that she was thinking of Cadillac Phil when she was on the loo, apparently she was wondering where he was - Tui ad "yeah right!".  Then Cam confessed that he was thinking as he was driving, if his kids knew the game "smell the cheese", Cam you really should be concentrating on the road?

About 1pm we all cruised off and meet at the Crown and Badger on the Strand for lunch and more hilarity.

As members left Ken thought it was a good idea to throw his left over chips on the road so that Sea Gulls would attacked passing cars, for those members who headed Devonport Road direction you were VERY LUCKY for those who headed Dive Crescent direction and got attacked by Sea Gulls, see Ken.  Special thanks to Leanne and "Jackarse" for the photos ...

All in all it was a great day catching up with members.
