Bay Rodders Annual Prize Giving

It was a miserably wet morning on Sunday the 12 September, but the ole faithful's like Deano, Ross Chaytor and my Den and about five Coastal Cruiser members got up really early to setup the marquee, and prepared the cookers etc for us Bay Rodders to have a great prize giving - thank you guys for all your work, I hope the other members express there thanks!

Then there were the Bruce Willis Die Hard Bay Rodder cruisers, the defiant ones who despite the weather are intent on having a cruise no matter what; there would have been about 15 cars and 3-4 muftis (aye Pat Oldfield), at Burger King 10am Fraser Cove, not letting the rain deter them from having a good time.  Ken prepared a well highlighted map of the cruise and duly handed these out to all those in attendance.  Then 10:45am Colonel Gadaffi (Pat McGrath) decided to nominate the cruise leader, despite my protest it was me, all I could say to everyone was "I'm leading Den's navigating, so whatever you don't lose your maps!".

We left Fraser Cover headed to Maleme Street, then out towards Tauriko and at the Mills Reef roundabout we took the second turn on our right, as the road is now open to Waihi Rd, we then got onto Waihi Rd, on the Express Way heading to Elizabeth Street, but unfortunately we did not take the Elizabeth turnoff, and the cruise was left in disarray.

Anyway the Die Hard cruisers got to Coastal cruisers to catch up with the workers and other members and in the marquee was the amazing smell of the three Webbers full cooking pork, and the kai kooker full of potatoes, kumara, and big chunks of sirloin steak (so full it had to be strapped down), I love the fact that we had to two cooker bouncers.

So everyone grabbed a beverage and took the opportunity to catching up and discuss what had been going on.  Deano didn't know what do to do with his umbrella, except to give Leanne a hard time and take one for the club LOL.

Within no time we had the prize giving, and I apologise for the quality of the photo's but unless most members have had a few drinks they don't like their photo taken - so the photo's are what they are:
