Bay Rodders Annual Fun Run and Prize Giving

Sunday the 25th August 2011, 9:30am I counted twenty four cars converged at our favourite meeting spot; Burger King Fraser Cove.  This year a Poker Run was organised, and as per usual everyone was keen for a run on such a gorgeous day, Garth had taken his med, Kim and Cam had got their flashing oil light sorted, and I think Cadillac Phil decided he could get a few deliveries done on the way, so we we're off to collect our first card from Deano.

"The meds were kicking in"

"Looking good James"

"Combining work and pleasure"

"Ahh Deano big smile"

When leaving all cars were instructed to turn right at the lights into Fraser Street, which only about four cars did, the others had their own ideas; typical Bay Rodders, but Dave McNaughton in Crystyn thought the exit was a two lane exit and was snapped by myself trying to quickly move from the right lane, back into the left lane before he encountered oncoming traffic - that's a fine Dave!

"You're not in the US now Dave!"

It was a little difficult trying to take photo's of the cars leaving as a mysterious thick fog fell across the road just as many were leaving the intersection.  I had to laugh when one of our new Bay Rodders members Leanne said "it smells like some things burning", you'll get use to that perfume Leanne; another fine. So off we cruised to pick up the next car from Garth and Lynne on Poripori Road.

"Bloody road works"

"There's that fog again - not bad for a diesel"

"Tail end Charlie - ou and who's that with you"

Once Gibbo and his new friend, had left the scene Lynne and Garth took the opportunity to make the most of the romantic setting; geez don't mind me guys, who needs a room when you've got an Imperial!

The run went really well, with no majors, Gordon Cromb running out of fuel in his 51 Chevy Sedan, on Totara Street, can't really be considered a major, but it's definitely a fine.  It was so good to see Muzz our Sheriff out cruising in his '67 Pontiac Firebird even though Baz had to remind him about the run and prize giving, the night before, that's a fine for Sheriff; is no one safe when I'm around he he.

"Muzz the Sheriff in his '67 Pointiac Firebird"

Everyone made it to the Coastal Cruisers club rooms, around mid-day where we were all treated to a fantastic BBQ Lunch.  Despite protest from Den, Pat and Jackie McGrath were the winners of the Poker run, just as well Den doesn't like white wine.

Prior to the formal awards there was a competition between Dannette, Tom Cruise and Steve as to who was the drinking champion, and the winner hands down by a mile was Dannette - go girl!

Awards were then presented by our President Deano and Secretary Lynne as follows...
