Drivers Bar Cruise Night May 2011

Last Saturday at the Milne's "Bad Taste" Party Mike Arnold insisted the Bay Rodders need to go to the Drivers Bar 11th Avenue end of month cruise night.

So last night eight cars parked up and had a blast catching up over dinner and a few drinks. The favourite meals were still there, and somehow the 'ole bangers and mash tasted even better last night because we hadn't had them for ages. After everyone had eaten Den was nominated to lead the cruise (how'd that happen Mike?) and off we headed after honking and waving our hosts Deb and Phil (the proprietors) good bye.

It was just the usual cruise through The Strand, over the bridge and through the Mount, but Deano and Garth were thirsty so there was no stopping at Main Beach, it was full steam ahead to the Coastal Cruisers club rooms.

We did make it safely to Coastal Cruisers despite one misinterpretation of a red arrow and another misunderstanding about when it was a good time to pass, with oncoming traffic. But hey we all got there safely in the end at that's the main thing.

As always the Coastal Cruisers hospitality was awesome, as they always make Bay Rodders welcome.

In no time it was doubles on the pool table, and I have to say Grant "you suck", I was just getting into that game when you decided to pot the black! I didn't get too much pool time after that game, unlike Den and Pat who reigned as the "Pool Kings", followed strangely enough by the "Pool Queens" Kim and Lynne, despite us looking the other way at the mis-Que and the fingering of the ball and the tonnes of guidance given he he.

Anyway another excellent night - good idea Mike, and we should get back into doing the last Friday of the month Driver's Bar cruise each month - thanks Deb and Phil. Also a BIG thanks to the Coastal Cruisers for letting us finish our pool game, and the awesome hospitality - Coastal Cruiser Keith - your the best man!
