Bay Rodders 2011 News Rotorua Run and Swap Meet I feel a little stupid really giving this page the title "Rotorua Run and Swap Meet" because I didn't make it to the Run or the Swap Meet but OMG what a night! Bay Rodders really know how party!!! Because of family commitments Dennis and I didn't make it to Rotorua until the early evening, we hooked up with all the Bay Rodders at Teresa and Bruce's home bar. Thanks so much for the hospitality guys, the roast dinner, the warm fire, the cooked breakfast, cool what are we doing next weekend, you won't get rid of us now!
After piling into taxi vans Bay Rodders made their way to Chuck's place to party. Unfortunately Bay Rodders didn't get the memo about it being a wig night, which is such a shame because we love to dress up and many of us look better in a wig! But anyway Chuck was looking particularly fetching that night with his Mohawk hair do.
The place was packed with everyone dancing to the awesome sounds of Al Dawson's Wildkatz's.
Some onlookers I think were sorry or more likely envious of our President Deano as some Bay Rodders after enjoying shots of homemade Malibu could not help but show their affection and appreciation by grind dancing the President on the dance floor and running on to the stage to show the drummer how much they appreciated him - groupies; Kim and Lynne
Thanks for an excellent night Chuck the band, the food, everything was great, but have get the lock fixed on the ladies honey!! But like a pack of rough looking Cinderella's we had to get out of there quick smart and get to the Sulphur City Rod and Custom Club rooms for the PK Challenge, if we were not there by 10 they would win by default - I have to add they know that would be the only way they could win - did I say that out loud!
The club made us feel very welcome as always ....
But then it was down to business and the PK Challenge was a foot. We were missing one of our star women players; Dannette (Lynne would have stood up but she said she had a snotty nose) so Kim Poynton stepped up and took one for the team, good girl Kim, you're a legend!!
Bay Rodders were so confident that they were going to win the challenge, that they didn't bring the trophy with them, and true to their word, they slammed dunked Sulphur City and were the outright winners again - go Bay Rodders (not Plodders)!!
With the challenge out of the way, it was time to dance the night away. This party was the debut night for the young four piece band named Ward 16. These guys rocked!!!! Everyone was on the dance floor all night until closing, they played the most awesome songs and we would love to have then at another event - well done guys!!!
The night continued into the wee hours of the morning with the usual antics; Leanne giving us a strip dance cause she's hot, Lynne deciding Den should strip too, Bay Rodders performing their famous "pancake planking", Cam entertaining the crowd with his "every ready battery spank the pony dance moves" etc etc.
For more photo's check out our Face Book site ...what an excellent night thanks Sulphur City Rod and Custom Club, see you next year, love ya .....Cathi :)
